To Keep in Line with the Adjustment of 2023 Basic Wage and the Amendment of the “Table of Grades of Insurance Salary” for Labor Insurance and Labor Occupational Accident Insurance, the Bureau of Labor Insurance (BLI) Shall Administer Proactive Adjustment of the Insured Salary(Contribution Wage)for Labor Insurance, Labor Occupational Accident Insurance and Labor Pension.

As the monthly basic wage for 2023 shall be adjusted from NTD25, 250 to NTD26, 400, the “Table of Grades of Labor Insurance Salary” and “Insured Salary Category of Occupational Accident Insurance” shall be amended accordingly, coming into effect on January 1, 2023. To simplify the administrative procedures, the BLI will make proactive adjustments for those insured persons applicable to Level 1 insured salary. It is not necessary for the insured units to file separate applications.

In the newly amended “Table of Grades of Labor Insurance Salary” and “Insured Salary Category of Occupational Accident Insurance”, the existing Level 1 monthly insured salary (NTD25, 250) shall be removed. The existing Level 2 monthly insured salary (NTD26, 400) shall be shifted to Level 1, and the following levels shall replace the remaining levels accordingly, with no change in the amount. After the amendment, there will be 13 levels for the “Table of Grades of Labor Insurance Salary” and 23 levels for the “Insured Salary Category of Occupational Accident Insurance” Also, a new level for NTD25, 250 shall be added to the “Remarks” column of the “Table of Grades of Labor Insurance Salary”.

To reduce the administrative burden of the insured units, the BLI shall make proactive adjustments on the insured salary of the Level 1 insured persons (originally NTD25, 250). With effect from January 1, 2023, their insured salary shall be adjusted to NTD26, 400. However, for those who are recorded as part-time workers, low-income members of occupational unions, people with disabilities under sheltered employment, or the trainees of vocational training institutions, they shall not be applicable to the proactive adjustment and their insured salary for labor insurance shall remain at NTD25, 250, considering that their actual income shall not be adjusted in line with the basic wage adjustment.

No amendment shall be made, however, to the “Monthly Contribution of Labor Pension”, considering that there is already a grade with a contribution amount of NTD26, 400. For the full-time workers with an original contribution wage of NTD25, 250, the BLI will also proactively adjust the contribution wage to NTD26, 400 to protect the rights and interests of such workers. The new insured amount shall take effect on January 1, 2023.

According to the BLI, the notices for the related proactive adjustments are printed on the reverse side of the insurance premium payment bills for October 2022, which have been mailed to the insured (contributing) units before November 25, 2022, and simultaneously announced on the e-service system of the Bureau. The name lists of the insured persons with adjusted insured salaries will be printed on the “List of Insured Persons with Premium Changes this Month” (Calculation List of Labor Pension) for January, 2023 and mailed along with the Premium (Labor Pension) payment slips before February 25, 2023. Insured units administering online applications may visit the BLI's e-service system for queries and downloads. The insured (contributing) units should carefully check the lists when received. If there is any discrepancy, please advise the BLI before the deadline for payment.

In addition, to facilitate the insurance premium deductions and labor pension collections for the insured (contributing) units, the "Table of Grades of Labor Insurance Salary" and "Table of Shared Insurance Premiums" for 2023, as well as the prevailing "Monthly Contribution of Labor Pension" have been placed in the "Table Download” of the BLI’s website. The BLI encourages the public to make good use of such services, as well as the” Online Pension Calculator for Individual Workers”.
