The BLI indicates, to allow labor friends adopting the New Labor Pension Program to have more familiar and convenient inquiry platform, it specially commissions the Taiwan Land bank, Taipei Fubon Band, Taishin Bank, and E-Sun Bank to issue "The Labor Protection Card" through which one may check one's individual pension account's record of contribution and profit withdrawal as well as the total sum of money accumulated. Card holders can inquire into and print the latest 6 transaction records, which include the employer contribution, self contribution and profit sharing, of the pension account through the issuing bank's ATM console. On top of that, from January 27th this year (2006), the card holder may check one's labor insurance seniority and variations through the issuing bank's net ATM screen.

Comparing this figure to the 4 million labors covered the New Labor Pension Program, this implies average one out of every 20 labor workers has applied for the card. Therefore the BLI estimates after the initial phase of implementation, more labor friends will discover the convenience of the Labor Protection Card, enjoying the convenient means of inquiry it provides.

The BLI particularly reminds the labor friends to note the following items:
1.To protect the personal labor pension account information of the cardholder, the information in mention will not be disclosed to the issuing financial institution for inquiry or printing till the holder consents in writing. The cardholder must carry out the termination procedures at the original issuing bank if the possess of the card is no longer in desire. The BLI will then cease to provide the individual pension account information to the bank for inquiry or printing.

2.As the inquiry of individual labor pension account does not go through the Financial Information Service Center, the cross-bank inquiry function is disabled. As such the "Labor Protection Bank" issued by Bank A can only make inquiries of pension account balances through the Bank A's ATM consoles.

3.Once issued the Labor Protection Card there is a one-year lock period from applying again. And the application is limited to one bank per person only, multiple applications not acceptable. So one might as well take a little time to find out which bank's ATM locations are the most convenient for making inquiries later on before deciding which bank to apply to.

4.Conforming to the related bank laws, the Labor Protection Card must combine chip card of financial functions such as cash card, credit card or the E-wallet. To combine cash card with it one needs to open the bank's account, however the initial deposit is optional.
