The National Health Insurance premium shared by the dependants of an unemployed insured person shall be subsidized by the Bureau of Labor Insurance commencing from January 31, 2007.

Regulations for National Health Insurance Premium Subsidy to the Unemployed Insured Person and His/Her Dependants

Article 1  
The Regulations are drawn up in accordance with the regulation stipulated in paragraph 2, Article 10 of the Employment Insurance Law (hereafter referred to as the Law).

Article 2  
The targeted party of the National Health Insurance premium subsidy in accordance with the regulation stipulated in subparagraph 4, paragraph 1, Article 10 of the Law is as follows:
 1.Unemployed insured person
 2.Dependants insured along with the insured person
 The insured person stipulated in subparagraph 1 of the preceding paragraph refers to the person who receives unemployment benefit or vocational training living allowance in accordance with the Law.
Dependants stipulated in subparagraph 2 of paragraph 1 refers to the dependants who had joined the National Health Insurance with the insured person at the time that the insured person left his/her job and withdrew from his/her insurance, and being the dependants stipulated in Article 9 of the National Health Insurance Act or having the status of an insured person stipulated in Category 6 for the duration of receiving subsidy.  But this does not include the dependants who backdated to join the insurance after the insured person had left his/her job and withdrawn from his/her insurance.

Article 3  
The insurer should subsidize the self-paid portion of National Health Insurance premium monthly for subsidized person in accordance with  the regulation of the preceding Article.
The insurance premium subsidy mentioned in the preceding paragraph shall be the amount paid by a person who receives unemployment benefit or vocational training living allowance at the end of each month when receiving the benefit.

Article 4
The insurer should submit the name, National ID card number, date of leaving the job and withdrawing from his/her insurance, the insured unit at the time of leaving the job and withdrawing from the insurance of the person who receives unemployment benefit and vocational training living allowance regularly to the Bureau of National Health Insurance to check the status of the unemployed insured person and the dependants attached to his/her insurance stipulated in Article 2 , and then all the data shall be returned to the insurer for confirmation.

Article 5
Upon confirmation of the party subsidized party by the insurer, the Bureau of National Health Insurance shall calculate the National Health Insurance premium shared by insured person, and submit receipts to the insurer for the procedure of payment .

Article 6  
The Regulations shall be enforced commencing from the date of promulgation.
