From January 1, 2019 onward, the monthly basic wage shall be adjusted to NT$23,100. The premium rates of ordinary insurance and occupational accident insurance under the Labor Insurance system for individuals insured through occupational unions or fishermen’s associations are adjusted. For workers with an insurance salary less than NT$23, 100, the BLI shall proactively adjust the insured amount on the same day

     From January 1, 2019, the monthly basic wage shall be adjusted to NT$23,100. The premium rate of ordinary insurance under the Labor Insurance system for the individuals insured through occupational unions or fishermen’s associations is adjusted to 10%. The “Labor Insurance - Table of Grades of Insurance Salary” and the “Table of Business Category and Premium Applicable for the Occupational Accident of Labor Insurance” are amended in the meantime.
     To keep in line with the adjustment of basic wage, the Grade 1 insurance salary on the “Labor Insurance - Table of Grades of Insurance Salary” will be changed to NT$23,100 with effect from January 1, 2019. For those insured through occupational unions or fishermen’s associations whose insurance salary is lower than the Grade 1 insurance salary of the new “Labor Insurance - Table of Grades of Insurance Salary”, the BLI shall proactively adjust the insured amount to NT$23,100 from January 1, 2019.
     Also, in accordance with Article 13, Paragraph 2 of the Labor Insurance Act, the premium rate for ordinary insurance shall be raised to 11% (including 1% for employment insurance) from January 1, 2019. The individuals insured through occupational unions or fishermen’s associations are not applicable to the employment insurance. The premium payable for the ordinary insurance, therefore, shall be calculated using the premium rate of 10%, based on the monthly insurance salary of the insured person.
     In accordance with Article 13, Paragraph 3 of the Labor Insurance Act, the premium rate for occupational accident insurance shall be adjusted once every three years. The Ministry of Labor, therefore, announced the newly amended “Table of Business Category and Premium Applicable for the Occupational Accident  of Labor Insurance” on October, 30, 2018 by Order No. Lao-Dung-Bao-3-Zi-No.1070140518, which shall become effective on January 1, 2019.
