8. In the event that an insured person who is dead and has being drawing “Old-age Pension Payments”, “Disability Pension Payments” or “Disability Basic Guaranteed Pension Payments”, what other benefit or payment could be claimed?

  1. If an insured person is dead during the period of drawing “Old-age Pension Payments” and if there are survivors who meet the requirements, the survivors could draw survivor pension payments; but since he/she is already over 65 years old and not the insured person, so there is no funeral benefits.
  2.  If an insured person is dead during the period of drawing “Disability Pension Payments” or "Disability Basic Guaranteed Pension Payments” and if there are survivors who meet the requirements, the survivors could draw survivor pension payments; The individual responsible for the funeral expenses, furthermore, may claim for the funeral benefits if the death occurred within the coverage period of the National Pension Insurance; otherwise the funeral benefits shall not be available.
