15. For people who do not have household registration in Taiwan, is there any difference when applying for benefit?

For the people who do not have household registration in Taiwan, if they meet the qualifications for claiming pension, they should attached IDs and related proof documents and sent to the Bureau of Labor Insurance for examination and continue to do so every year. If the related proof documents are in foreign language, they should include a Chinese translation and verified and certified by the following organizations and agencies:

  1. If the proof documents are produced overseas, they should be certified and verified by a ROC embassy, representative office, liaison office or any other organization authorized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. If the documents are produced in Taiwan by the foreign embassies or their authorized agents in Taiwan, they should be certified and verified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
  2. If the proof documents are completed and issued in Mainland China area, they should be certified by Strait Exchange Foundation (SEF).
  3. If the proof documents are produced in Hong Kong or Macau, they should be certified and verified by the institutes designated or setup by the Executive Yuan or the delegated civilian groups in Hong Kong or Macau. (Currently, they include the Taipei Economic Cultural Center in Hong Kong and the Taipei Economic Cultural Center in Macau.)
  4. If the Chinese translation is not certified, it should be certified by the court of law or public notary.
