8. When an insured person dies, if any of his/her survivors, such as his/her spouse, parent or child, is also covered by the labor insurance, can this survivor claim the benefit for the death of a family member?

When an insured person dies, the person who pays the funeral expenses may claim a funeral grant of five months’ pay. If any of his/her survivors, such as his/her spouse, parent or child, is also covered by the labor insurance, according to the rule that no more than one claim can be made for the same event, he/she shall not apply for a funeral grant for the death of a family member. However, if the funeral grant for the death of a family member is more than the funeral grant of five months’ pay for the death of an insured person himself/herself, then his/her survivor may apply for the funeral grant for the death of a family member instead of the funeral grant for the death of an insured person himself/herself.
