The Rights and Interests of an Insured Person on Labor Insurance Old-Age Pension Benefit Will Not Be Affected Even If His/hers Household Registration Record Has Been Moved Out for Absent from ROC for More Than Two Years

If an applicant of the labor insurance old-age pension benefit is absent from ROC for more than two years and his/her household registration has been proactively moved out by the household registration authorities, he/she may, on a yearly basis, submit the related identity or residency certificates authenticated by the overseas missions of Taiwan. He/she will be entitled to receiving the pension benefit each month after the application has been reviewed and approved.

According to the BLI, Ministry of Labor, the BLI will cross check the relevant household registration and conscription information each month to ensure the accuracy of the old-age pension benefits of Labor Insurance. In the event that the household registration record of an applicant thereof has been moved out by the household registration authority, the BLI will proactively send a notification to the applicant, who should, in accordance with the relevant regulations under the Labor Insurance Act, submit the related identity or residency certificates authenticated by the overseas mission of Taiwan. He/she will be entitled to continuing receiving the old-age pension benefits of Labor Insurance each month after the application has been reviewed and approved. If the applicant is unable to submit the identity or residency certificates for the time being, the pension payment will be discontinued temporarily in accordance with the regulations. Such benefit payment, however, will be made afterwards and on a consolidated basis when the required certificates have been fully provided. The rights and interests of the insured person for the labor insurance old-age pension benefits, therefore, will not be affected even if his/her household registration record has been moved out.
