Maternity Benefits

  1. Qualification
    A female insured person of the National Pension Insurance who has given birth or has had premature labor during the insured period; or who is pregnant during the effective period of the insurance and, due to the pregnancy, has a childbirth or premature labor within one year after her withdrawal from the insurance, the insured person shall be entitled to claim the maternity benefits, provided that she has not received any maternity benefit from other social insurance programs.
  2. Amount of Benefit
    (1)The maternity benefit is a two month lump-sum payment based upon the monthly insurance amount when the insured person gives birth or has premature delivery. In case of a plural birth, maternity benefit shall be increased proportionately, i.e., four-months of the monthly insurance amount for twins and six-months of the amount for triplets.
    (2)The insured person should choose one benefit to apply when also meet the qualification for maternity benefit conditions of related social insurances.
