10. Can maternity benefits be remitted to an overseas bank account?

Pursuant to Article 48 of the Enforcement Rules of the Labor Insurance Act, insurance benefits shall be directly remitted into the insured person's account. If the account is at an overseas financial institution, the processing fee shall be borne by the insured person claiming the insurance benefits. Therefore, labor insurance maternity benefits may be remitted to an overseas account of an insured person, but the insured person is required to bear the processing fees. The insured person’s English name, overseas mailing address in English (the country, city, and remaining part of the address must be specified), account number, bank and branch name in English, branch address in English, and SWIFT code must be provided for remittance procedures (Download the International Remittance Account Form).
