In case an insured person has childbirth occurring more than 280 days after she participates in the program or has premature labor occurring more than 181 days after she participates in the program, she is entitled to claim one lump sum of maternity benefits equivalent to two months of her average monthly insurance salary. In case of a plural birth resulting from childbirth, the payment shall be increased proportionately.
Female insured persons (including R.O.C. nationals as well as foreign nationals married to R.O.C. nationals, and people of Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macao married to R.O.C. nationals) who give birth or have a premature birth on or after January 1, 2026 and meet the eligibility requirements for Labor Insurance Maternity Benefits will receive an additional Birth Allowance from the government to bring the total amount to NTD 100,000;this additional Birth Allowance will be paid together with the maternity benefits.
