Those who possess sheltered workshop establishment permit may employ the disabled under sheltering employment and report the minimum insurance salary for labor insurance & employment insurance from NT$6,000 commencing from January 1, 2008.

"The Disabled under Sheltering Employment" over the age of 15 and under the age of 60 employed in the sheltered workshop, his/her employer or subordinating institution should join him/her in the labor insurance and employment insurance, whose minimum insurance salary shall be NT$6,000 commencing from January 1, 2008.

The Bureau of Labor Insurance is reminding the insured units who possess sheltered workshop establishment permit or have been authorized by the government to process sheltering employment service plan, when  applying for coverage of insurance or adjusting the insurance salary for the employee who is "The Disabled under Sheltering Employment" , kindly put a remark, "Sheltering  Employment," on the application form.  The minimum insurance salary shall be NT$6,000 based on the enforced Table of Grades of Insurance Salary commencing from January 1, 2008.  Appropriate insurance salary grades should be added to employee whose salary is lower than the basic wage.  There are 10 insurance salary grades for reporting, NT$6,000, NT$7,500, NT$8,700, NT$9,900, NT$11,100, NT$12,105, NT$12,300, NT$13,500, NT$15,840, and NT$16,500. 

The Bureau of Labor Insurance is also reminding the insured units who have not applied for sheltered workshop establishment permit or not authorized by the government to process sheltering employment service plan, the minimum insurance salary for the disabled employee over the age of 16 remains to be NT$17,280.
