12. In case there are two or more persons who claim the funeral grant or the survivor’s pension (allowance), how shall the benefit be paid? If they cannot reach an agreement, how will the BLI pay the benefit to them?

In case there are two or more persons who apply for the funeral grant or the survivor pension, they should jointly receive the benefit. If they fail to jointly receive the benefit or another eligible person also submits an application before the BLI approves the payment, the BLI will ask the applicants in writing to negotiate and reach an agreement within 30 days. If they fail to reach an agreement, then the total amount of the funeral grant or the survivor pension (allowance) will be evenly distributed among the applicants.
