Based on the Table of Grades of Labor Insurance Salary, the amount of insurance salary for Level 1 shall be adjusted to NT$23,800, taking effect January 1, 2020. For full-time insured persons originally insured at a monthly salary of NT$23,100, the Bureau of Labor Insurance (BLI) shall proactively adjust the monthly insurance salary to NT$23,800 from the effective date. The Insured Units are not required to file applications for the adjustment

With effect from January 1, 2020, the Basic Wage will be adjusted from NT$23,100 per month to NT$23,800 per month. The Table of Grades of Labor Insurance Salary will be adjusted accordingly. The Level 1 insurance salary will be adjusted to NT$23,800. The insurance salary for the remaining levels will remain unchanged and the total number of levels remains to be 16. For trainees of vocational training institutions, part-time workers and disabled insured persons under sheltered employment programs for whom the monthly salary is lower than the Basic Wage, the monthly insurance salary shall be NT$23,100, which is a newly-added grade. There is no change to the other levels or their respective monthly insurance salaries.

Following this revision to the Table of Grades of Labor Insurance Salary, the BLI shall, with effect from January 1, 2020, proactively adjust the insurance salary of full-time insured persons whose insured salary is NT$23,100 for the month of December, 2019 (except part-time workers, low income individuals insured with vocational associations, disabled persons under sheltered employment programs, and trainees of vocational training institutions). Effective from the same date, premiums shall be calculated on the basis of the adjusted amounts.

The notice for the adjustment of insurance salaries will be printed on the reverse side of the insurance premium payment bills for October 2019, which will be mailed to the insured unit in late November 2019 and simultaneously announced on the e-service system of BLI. The details of insured persons with adjusted insurance salaries will be printed on the premium payment bills for January 2020 (to be mailed in late February 2020) under the List of Insured Persons with Changes this Month (Insured units which have been registered for the BLI’s e-services may visit the e-service system for queries and downloads). Please check the lists carefully and, if there are any discrepancies, advise the BLI as soon as possible and before the deadline for premium payment.

If an insured unit adjusts the monthly insurance salary for a full-time worker (from December 1, 2019 onward) or applies for new insurance (from January 1, 2020 onward) in future, please ensure the minimum insurance salary is NT$23,800.

The “Table of Grades of Labor Insurance Salary” and the “Table of Shared Insurance Premiums” that are applicable from January 1, 2020 onward will be available at the homepage of the BLI Global Information Website (https://www.bli.gov.tw/en/) under “Public Service/ Table Download). Insured units and insured persons are welcomed to view and download the tables online.
