24. During the period of collecting the disability pension payment, can an individual continue to join the insurance? Can the individual collect the old-age benefits?

No.

Regardless whether an individual’s disability level falls under the “permanent inability to work” of the Attachment of the Labor Insurance Disability Benefit Payment Standards, or has undergone the individualized professional assessment to conform to the pension payment criteria, when filing to collect the pension payment, individuals on both categories will need to withdraw from the insurance, and may not continue to extend the insurance.

Since an individual collecting the pension payment can no longer work, the individual, when conforming to the eligibility of collecting the disability benefits, old-age benefits or survivor benefits conditions, may only choose one scheme for collecting the payment.
