According to the Labor Insurance Act, monthly pension payments are available as of the month when the insured person applies for it, until the month when he/she no longer qualifies.
- If the insured person receives the Old-age Pension Benefit or the Disability Pension Benefit, the monthly pension payments stop in the month when he/she dies. After his/her death, his/her survivors can claim the Survivors Pension Benefit instead. However, for those receiving the Disability Pension Benefit, if their disability status improves, the monthly pension payments will also stop.
- Besides, if anybody receiving the Survivors Pension Benefit loses his/her qualifications as a survivor of the deceased, the pension payments will be stopped.
