Kaohsiung City Gas Explosions Victims’ Rights to Claim Related Benefits.

The gas explosions incident occurring in the Lingya and Cianjhen Districts of Kaohsiung City on July 31, 2014 caused mass casualties. The BLI has activated disaster expedient response measures, which apply to cases of applications for various insurance benefits from the disaster area (Lingya and Cianjhen Districts of Kaohsiung City). The application processes will be simpler, more lenient, and more prompt. When mailing your application, please print “Kaohsiung City Gas Explosion Disaster Application Case” on the envelope. You can also contact the local offices of BLI for assistance with your applications. The BLI will make these applications top priorities to get the much needed benefits and allowances to the insured persons and their families as quickly as possible.

For instructions on how to apply for various insurance benefits, the insured persons can follow the guidelines listed below:

(1) Unable to work due to injury
(2) Disabled in a disaster
(3) Death
(4) Victims of occupational accident
