18. If an insured person belonging to a labor union or fishermen’s association has not paid his/her premium or overdue fine, what are the consequences?

When an insured person who belongs to a labor union or fishermen’s association fails to pay his or her premium on time, he/she will be contacted by labor union or fishermen’s association and asked to make the delinquent payment promptly. If the insured person again fails to make the payment, the labor union or fishermen’s association will include the insured person in a name list consisting of all insured persons failing to pay premiums on time and send it to the Bureau of Labor Insurance. The Bureau will then suspend all insurance benefits and impose overdue penalties based on this name list. The insured person will have to make the overdue payment to resolve suspension. Besides, if the insured person still fails to make the payment after having received time limited payment notice from the Bureau, the case will be transferred to administrative enforcement.
