24. Recent media reports have revealed that the labor pension fund will experience a loss. Is this true? How did the government respond?

According to the Bureau's latest labor insurance ordinary insurance actuarial report, the labor insurance fund is expected to experience a loss after 10 years or more. This prediction is based on the assumption that the labor insurance operates in accordance with the current laws and regulations without implementing any response measures. Nevertheless, the Taiwan government has always focused on the sustainable management of the labor insurance system and will not permit the financial status of its insurance system to deteriorate, let alone experience a loss. In response to the potential financial problems caused by the increasing aging population, decreasing birth rate, and offering low labor insurance premium rate for long periods, the competent authority, Ministry of Labor have already actively formulated response plans to ensure that the labor insurance system operates effectively and to protect insured persons' benefit rights and interests.
