8. If an insured person of Labor Insurance has participated in National Pension Insurance, Could he/she include the insurance coverage year of National Pension Insurance when claiming for disability benefits? How would the benefit amount be calculated?

  1. If the Labor Insurance insured person meet the criteria for claiming disability pension due to injuries or sickness and he/she has national pension insurance coverage seniority, the disability pension is calculated according to the insured person’s insurance coverage seniority, 1.3% of the average monthly insured salary will be issued for every one full year of insurance coverage year with insurance premium paid. If the combined benefit amount of labor insurance disability pension benefits and national pension mental and physical disability pension benefits is less than 4,000 NT dollars, the 4,000 NT dollars shall be granted.

  2. For the labor insurance insured person whose degree of disability has not reached “permanent inability to work” and (or) the insured person claims for lump sum disability benefits since he/she doesn’t meet the criteria for claiming disability pension; or when whose conditions conform to the “permanent inability to work” payout item who has insurance coverage year prior to the induction of the labor pension scheme on January 1, 2009, the insurance coverage year of National Pension shall not be included in the calculation of the lump sum disability benefits.
