From January 1, 2023 onward, the Level 1 Insurance Salary for Labor Insurance and Labor Occupational Accident Insurance Shall Be Adjusted to NTD26,400. For Workers with an Insurance Salary Less than NTD26,400, the BLI Shall Proactively Adjust the Insured Amount on the Same Day. The Labor Insurance Premium Rate Shall Be Adjusted to 12% (including 1% for Employment Insurance). For Persons Insured through Occupational Unions or Fishermen’s Associations, the Labor Insurance Premium Rate Shall Be 11%

The Ministry of Labor released the new “Table of Grades of Labor Insurance Salary” and “Insured Salary Category Chart of Labor Occupational Accident Insurance” on October 26, 2022, respectively under reference Lao-Dung-Bao-2-Zi-1110150621 and Lao-Dung-Bao-3-Zi 1110150627. The level 1 insurance salary shall be adjusted to NTD26,400 on Jan. 1, 2023. For those insured through occupational unions or fishermen’s associations whose insurance salary is lower than the Level 1 insurance salary of the new Tables (not including the low-income workers), the BLI shall proactively adjust the insured amount to NTD26,400 from January 1, 2023.

Also, in accordance with Article 13, Paragraph 2 of the Labor Insurance Act, the premium rate for labor insurance shall be raised to 12% (including 1% for employment insurance) from January 1, 2023. The persons insured through occupational unions or fishermen’s associations are not applicable to the employment insurance. The labor insurance premium payable by these insured persons, therefore, shall be calculated using the premium rate of 11% since January 1, 2023, based on the monthly insurance salary of the insured persons.
