The Bureau has removed the restriction on applying labor protection cards from more than one issuing banks, allowing more convenient access to the labor insurance and labor pension information.

Effective from 1 April 2013, the Bureau has removed the restriction on applying labor protection cards from more than one of the five issuing banks. In other words, insurance participants may apply for labor protection cards from one or more of the commissioned issuing banks. This will enable more convenient access to the labor insurance and labor pension information.

Since November 2005, the Bureau of Labor Insurance has, successively, commissioned five banks to issue the Labor Protection Cards, including the Land Bank of Taiwan, E-Sun Commercial Bank, Taipei Fubon Commercial Bank, Taishin International Bank and First Commercial Bank. Through the ATM machines of these issuing banks, the card holders are allowed to check and print out the latest six records about their labor insurance movement, their total insured period, the latest six transaction details in their Individual Labor Pension Account, and the accumulated balance in the above account.

In order to provide more convenient enquiry service on labor insurance and labor pension information, the Bureau has now relaxed the restrictions on the application of labor protection cards. The ban against applying labor protection cards from more than one issuing banks has been lifted. Effective from 1 April 2013, the labor insurance participants may apply for the labor protection cards from one or more than one of the five issuing banks.

Insured persons holding the ATM cards or credit cards issued by the five issuing banks of the labor protection card may apply for upgrading of the original ATM or credit card into the labor protection card. No additional charge shall be levied. Applications are welcomed. The designated telephone service lines of the card issuing banks are: Land Bank of Taiwan :( 02) 2314-6633;E-Sun Commercial Bank: (02)2182- 2313;Taipei Fubon Commercial Bank: (02) 8751-1966;Taishin International Bank:  (02) 2655-3355;First Commercial Bank: (02)2181-1111.

Through a cooperative program with Chunghwa Post Co., Ltd., the Bureau also offers various enquiry services on labor insurance and labor pension information, which can be accessed through Post Office ATM Cards. Holders of Post Office ATM Cards may apply for such services from the local post offices by signing a letter of consent issued by the Bureau. On completion of the application procedures, the applicant may enquire and print out the related labor insurance and labor pension information from more than 3,000 ATM machines provided by Chunghwa Post Co., Ltd. Applications are welcomed.
